Repair Mortars

Repair mortar is a premium quality pre-mixed, shrinkage-compensated mortar made from selected cements, graded aggregates, lightweight fillers, polymers and special additives.

When water is added, it readily blends to produce a medium weight mortar of good consistency for repair purposes.Repair mortars are specifically designed for restoring or replacing the original profile and function of the damaged concrete. They help to repair concrete defects, improve appearance, restore structural integrity, increase durability and extend the structure's longevity.

If the cracked mortar is harder, make a relief cut down the center of the mortar joint using the pointed edge of the chisel and then gently chip out the mortar (brick grout) that contacts the brick. If the removal work is going really slowly, use an angle grinder to make the relief cuts.

How do you fill mortar between bricks?

Scoop a dollop of mortar onto a brick trowel or hawk, hold it up even with a bed joint, and push the mortar against the back of the joint with the tuck-pointing trowel. Eliminate voids with a few slicing passes of the trowel's edge, then add more mortar until the joint is filled.
